8 charities every vegan should support

Being vegan is not just a choice of the diet. It is about being compassionate to all living beings. Every fellow vegan will agree that that killing, torturing and abusing animals is as wrong as if you would do that to another human being. Whilst veganism is growing exponentially and more people are joining vegan ranks, there is still lots of injustice and suffering inflicted onto animals. Luckily there are some amazing charities that are doing wonderful job by standing up for the voiceless. Here is a brief look at 8 charities with the few pointers as to why every vegan should support at least one of them.

Compassion Over Killing

Compassion Over Killing

This is a charity whose mission is to work and bring about positive change for animals. From being an all-voluntary charity, Compassion Over Killing has now attained the status of being the national voice for animals. Their campaigns have a great success in convincing companies like Quorn and Subway to launch vegan options of their products.

Mercy for Animals

This is a charity that is dedicated to preventing cruelty to farmed animals and promoting compassionate food choices and policies. According to the charity, they are on the frontlines fighting to protect farmed animals. From factory farms to corporate boardrooms, courts of justice to courts of public opinion, Mercy For Animals is there to speak up against cruelty and for compassion. MFA impact is quite impressive - 1.3 billion animals protected annually from cruel cages, mutilation, and agonising slaughter thanks to corporate policy successes, 500,000 animals spared annually from miserable lives at factory farms because MFA persuaded schools and other institutions to reduce meat, dairy, and eggs served and 26 million vegan meals served a year by schools and social assistance programs across Brazil and Mexico thanks to MFA's meat reduction programs!

The Humane League

If you are concerned about factory farms that are cutting short the lives of billions of animals and if you want to do something about the inhumane and miserable lives that animals are forced to live in, then it makes sense to support this charity. The Humane League wants to fight together to reduce the suffering as well as make the world a better place for farm animals. Their boasting of many achievements, just to mention the few - in response to online ads, over 18 million people watched a video about the cruelties of factory farming, as part of their outreach 160,000 young people received literature about factory farming cruelty and compassionate food choices. According to them, millions of farm animals have been impacted by changes championed by The Humane League. Companies like ALDI, Subway, Kroger improved conditions for farm animals as a result of a campaign by The Humane League.

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society or SSCS is an international not for profit marine wildlife conservation organisation that began operating in 1977. Its mission is to end destruction of wildlife habitats and to stop the slaughter of wildlife in the oceans of the world in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species. Soi Dog Foundation

Home

Soi Dog Foundation is very special for us here at Vegan Hoodies. This charity began operations way back in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand. Its aim is to help street dogs and cats who are either abandoned or not cared for. In addition, they rescue and vaccinate and provide medical treatment and also shelter and adopt animals that cannot be returned to their original territory.
You may also not be aware that each year in Asia, millions of dogs are snatched from the streets or stolen from their homes to be tortured and slaughtered for their meat. In South Korea, dogs are bred for consumption in shocking conditions on so-called “dog meat farms”. These dogs spend their entire lives in cages and are then killed in some of the most horrific ways possible. Soi Dog Foundation launch a campaign to put an end to end this barbaric practice!

Please support this awesome charity by donating directly or adopting a dog. At Vegan Hoodies we make sure that do our part and 10% of profits of all products sold in our store goes to Soi dog Foundation! Please visit their website below:

    What We Do…
Our work chips away at two of the world’s most immense, unnecessary, and unconscionable forms of suffering… the suffering of people hungry from lack of food, and the suffering of animals used and abused for food. In addition to advocacy, we partner with and assist groups to distribute vegan food to people in need, build food gardens in low-income communities, and strengthen farm animal rescue. »
